Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TradeBridge (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and shares personal data when you use our website at usetradebridge.com, our Android app, and related services (together, the “Service”).

We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For privacy questions or requests, email support@usetradebridge.com.

1. Who we are

TradeBridge operates the Service that helps consumers discover local tradespeople (for example plumbers, electricians and cleaners), match, message, and manage related features. The data controller for personal data described in this policy is the operator of TradeBridge reachable at support@usetradebridge.com.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account data — email address, display name, password or authentication credentials, and profile details you provide (including as a consumer or tradesperson).
  • Profile and listing data — trades offered, rates, bio, photos, verification documents you upload, availability and portfolio content.
  • Location data — approximate or precise location when you allow it (for nearby search, maps, and optional safety sharing).
  • Messages and media — chat content and files you send through the Service.
  • Usage and device data — app interactions, crash/diagnostic information, device type, and approximate network information.
  • Payment-related data — if you subscribe, billing is handled by Google Play (or other store/payment partners); we receive subscription status and limited transaction metadata, not your full card details.
  • Support communications — emails and complaint details you send to us.
  • Public business listings — some nearby business information may come from Google Places / Maps; that content is subject to Google’s terms and is not necessarily a TradeBridge-registered account.

3. How we use your data

  • Provide, operate and improve the Service (discovery, matching, messaging, maps, profiles).
  • Authenticate accounts and keep the Service secure.
  • Show relevant local listings and filters based on location and preferences.
  • Process subscriptions and manage plan entitlements.
  • Respond to support and complaints.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Analyse usage in aggregate to improve product quality (where appropriate).

4. Legal bases

We rely on one or more of: contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (to run, secure and improve TradeBridge in ways that do not override your rights), consent (for example precise location or certain device permissions), and legal obligation where applicable.

5. Sharing your data

We use service providers to run TradeBridge, including:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Remote Config, Hosting) and related Google Cloud services.
  • Google Maps / Places for maps, nearby search and related location features.
  • Google Play for Android distribution and in-app subscriptions, where used.

These providers process data on our instructions or as independent controllers where their own products require it. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the Service, or our rights.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses) offered by those providers.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: while your account is active, for messages and listings connected to the Service, and thereafter for a reasonable period for security, disputes and legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account data (see below).

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, use our dedicated page: Delete account & data, or email support@usetradebridge.com with the subject “Account deletion request”. In the app, go to Profile → Delete account & data. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and web app may use essential cookies or local storage for login session, preferences and security. Analytics cookies, if introduced later, will be described here and, where required, only used with consent.

10. Children

TradeBridge is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted transport and access controls via our cloud providers). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and protect your device.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
